French black marble and ormolu 8 day time and strike thread suspension mantel clock; Raingo Freres, Paris, movement, c1840
CONDITION:
the glossy black stone case has some minor chips on the back edge, and the gilding is bright with just minor wear. There are a few faint hairlines on the white porcelain dial, indistinctly signed with a retailer name, and both glasses are fine. The movement carries an overstruck stamp from the famous Raingo family of clockmakers. There is half-hour striking by bell and count wheel. Ht 19"
